Background

We are a family farm based on the outskirts of Limavady, due to major expansions within our business at Broighter Gold we are looking to welcome another member to our team.  We are looking for motivated, innovative and independent individuals who are willing to think outside the box for themselves. Training will be given on all aspects, and instructions will have to be adhered too as we are SALSA accredited within our business.

We farm between 700-750 acres of wheat, barley, carrots and oilseed for Broighter Gold Rapeseed Oil.  We grow, bottle, and produce all of our own products onsite.  

Are you looking for a change, never one day will always be the same, as we are dramatically expanding and seeking the right person, to play a vital role in keeping our warehouse, pressing room, ensuring stock is always at hand, and being part of the production team.

Working hours: 37 hours per week, less lunch/teabreak.  8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 8/9 am to 1pm.  These hours may vary if we decide to go down a 4 day week in 2025. But hours will remain the same for the 4 days.  Fulltime position once probation time has been completed.

Job description

You will be part of the production team creating all products using our semi-automatic line and manual lines daily.  Ensuring stock is kept up all the time for all products, meeting demands and deadlines for orders from our customers, packing small orders daily, using the strapping machines, pallet wrap, making up pallets for supermarkets, and own brand products.   

Completing records, tares, recording intake and documents required within the role.  Trouble shooting, and changing machines over for different products and sizes.  Work efficiently on your own and part of the Team.  

Keeping a clean, tidy working environment is essential, to ensure compliance is always at a high standard.  Keeping the store in an organised manner, ensuring that we aim to meet the Lean standards, that we never run out.   

Training will be given in all aspects of the job, and to be able to take directions, and then be left to your own ability once shown is a must for our business.   

Be self motivated, have a good communications skills, and have a willingness to take on new challenges, and good time keeping is a must.  Mobile phones will not be used for social media during working hours.  

This role has been done my females and we state this so that it doesn’t put anyone off when applying for the position.  As long as you have a good physical health, and no back issues, as small parcels will be required to be lifted daily.  This is an active role, and not one that you will be sitting at a desk more most of the day.   

§  Job Duties:

·         Full training will be given in all areas.

·         Completing production/despatch records/batch records  

·         Organising orders, to meet demands, and ensure sufficient stock is available at all times for sales team, and also production team.

·         Stock control of products, ingredients, bottles, jars, and caps.

You will be expected to learn other areas of the business such as preparation of orders, and dispatch (to ensure that everyone knows what to do should someone be off)  

 

 

·         Production Operative  

 

Lifting boxes when filled up to 5.5kg

·         Filling, capping, and labelling glass bottles with a range of oils.

·         Filing the empty boxes, with glass bottles.

·         Creating large batches of Flavours/Herbs

·         Creating gift boxes and small bottles.

·         Batch Record Sheet Explained & How to record information, and dates on bottles.

·         Awareness of CCP points, Flow Chart – HACCP Plan, Allergens.  

 

Packing Duties

·         Stocking the storeroom with boxes, making up boxes & packaging for all products

·         Selecting products off the shelves, creating online orders, packing them and leaving ready for the courier.  Approx weight 20-30kg max. Pack parcels, and pallets, ensuring accuracy of products and record information.

·         Preparing orders for a range of supermarkets

·         Using Strapping machine, and hand strap pallets. Pallet wrapping and ensuring that all the correct documentation is attached for the Haulage companies and couriers daily.  

This list is not exhaustive, as other jobs may occur within the day.  This should give you an idea of mostly what is expected.  

 

 

§  Essential Criteria:

·         Ability to adhere to Health & Safety Standards.

·         Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Manufacturing will be essential and can be obtained after a successful interview (by the person applying).

·         An organised person, who can ensure that all paperwork is attached to orders, complete orders daily, and ensure that we are compliant at all times.  

Personal Hygiene is extremely important in our business.

 

o   Desirable Experience:

·         An understanding in Hygiene and Food Safety, and SALSA Food Accreditation.

·         Ability to work on own initiative.

·         Compliance with food hygiene & quality standards (Training can be done if successful)

·         Manual handling will be expected, for stacking shelves, and preparing orders.  

·         Knowledge of Outlook, emails, be able to add orders onto the Distribution companies sites.  

·         Ability to ensure all paperwork is attached correctly to the right orders daily.

·         Lean management procedures

·         Electric pallet truck for loving pallets – training will be given.

·         Forklift license, not essential for this position.

The Company currently operates two set close down periods as follows:

  • 12th July Week
  • Christmas Week

The exact dates of each close down period will be notified to you in January of each year.  It is a requirement however that you reserve days of your holidays to cover July and the Christmas to New Year period.  All remaining leave can be taken at your discretion but in line with the conditions as detailed within clause 5.6.
